In 2007 my wife and I joined our in-laws in Italy for a two-week holiday. During the vacation, we visited the medieval town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. The town is famous for its 14 towers which are all that survive of the original 72 towers that were originally built.
This view is from a few km outside the town, deep in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

Award-winning artist, Richard Harpum, paints in a realist style, paying meticulous attention to detail. His medium of choice is acrylics on canvas or board but he also uses oils and paints watercolour florals. Richard's primary focus is landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and gardens but he also paints portraits, still lifes and florals. The effective use of light is a key ingredient to all of Richards works and he spends a great deal of time before starting a painting in selecting a composition that provides both drama and contrast.
